Monitor Microsoft Indexing Server Services
Microsoft Indexing Service (formerly called Index server) is a desktop search service included with Windows Operating Systems.
It is an OS level service that maintains an index of most of the files on a computer, to improve searching performance on servers and workstations.
It updates indexes without user intervention.
An MS Index check requires the following parameters:
- Services - A list of Microsoft Indexing Server services that should be running on the target server;
- Processes - A list of Microsoft Indexing Server services that should be running on the target server;
- WMI Performance Counters - A list of Microsoft Indexing Server performance counters that should be monitored.
